So Miss Cynthia went after the dining room, and here's the first look. There's still some finish work to do, but thanks to some ceiling paint, wall paper, and a perfectly suited table from Costco of all places, it's taking shape.
Our glass top table goes back to the 80's, and it's had a good run. We've had many a get together around the old table in four different houses, and now we can make new memories around this one in a delightful setting.
Over the weekend, I placed a beam under the house at the low spot in the floor. It's a spot right by the entrance to the hallway that's about 1" low. I'm hoping we can gradually lift this hollow spot over the next year or so without the walls crumbling to pieces. We'll see! Cynthia says I have to stop at the first sign of cracking...
I started work on the downstairs bath too, repairing the cords on the window, and starting the process of cleaning up the trim for paint. We hope to have the living room, dining room, and bath dialed in before visitors come in late March.
